Twitter account – Celebrity Scam News

We get a number of pretty attractive feedbacks from readers of Naked Security from time-to-time, but this one takes the word eccentric to all new heights of space-hopperdom.

A fan of the SophosLabs YouTube channel sent us a message with an unusual request:

i love your videos man and i was wondering if you can hack back into twitter and have Taylor Swift follow me?

My twitter is [LINK] and hers is [LINK] in case you didn’t know… but you probably did ha-ha.

Please write back…

Wow – that’s factual fan devotion. I know Taylor Swift is very gifted, but imagine being such a worshipper of the young country pop singer that you would beg a computer security firm to break into her Twitter account so she’d perceive sound what you have to say!

I check out our journalists Twitter page. Judging by his wallpaper, he appears to be confirming his love for Taylor Swift, and may be eager to jump in now that she’s tearing up from boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal.

Unluckily, though, this is one request from a Naked Security reader that we’re not leaving to be able to help with – though graciously he phrases it.

All the other Taylor Swift fans out there (and there are plenty of them – over 5.2 million people follow the singer-songwriter on Twitter) be supposed to note that she only follow 50 people on Twitter herself. Your best possibility of her presentation you any interest are to become a celebrity yourself, catch her eye on the Nashville music scene, or get a job as her minder in case Kanye West leaps onto the stage.

Teen idol Selena Gomez just become the newest celebrity to have their social media accounts hijacked and misused, after a hacker posted offensive messages from her Face book and Twitter profiles. A hacker calling himself “PkinJ0r” took credit for the concession in a video posted on YouTube. He claim to have done it on a confront and just to show Face book’s deprived safety.

The hacker claim not to have made any change to the account, but yet, Ms. Gomez’s wall got filled by vulgar status updates posted on her behalf. One of them read “Oh yen, JUSTIN BIEBER SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!”

According to TMZ, the young actress’ reps rapidly regain manage of the profile and it seem that her Twitter account was also exaggerated.”Sorry everyone. My Face book Page and Twitter account has been hacked and we are cleaning it up,” Ms. Gomez later posted. It’s unclear at this time if the Face book and Twitter incidents are related and the methods used to hack into the accounts remain unknown.

It might have been a diversity of things, from insecure passwords to phishing and even hacking of a computer used to right of entry them. At the start of last month, German authorities under arrest two young men supposed of infect the computers of over 50 celebrities with malware, which led to the premature leaking of songs and the stealing of other sensitive information.

A lot of celebrities had their email, Face book, Twitter, MySpace or YouTube accounts hacked in the past, some of them even multiple times. Other young actresses that were previously targeted by hackers include Hannah Montana’s Miley Cyrus and Kick-Ass star Chloë Moretz, whose Face book account was hijacked after her computer got stolen. Guns N’ Roses front man Axl Rose, rapper Kanye West, pop diva Britney Spears, TV host Kirstie Allsopp, Ja Rule, Dorion Stanberry and many others also had their online accounts hijacked.
