Spammers And Their Spams

Spamming the site becomes the day-today activity for most of the people in the world. Lots of spams are overloaded into business websites and create unsolicited commercial email advertising for the site. According to the statement of chief of operations, spams and the person engaged in spams should be measured and it becomes more advanced in day-to-day. Spams are increasing their volume very highly and it should be reduced using advanced technologies. The classifieds of spams and their measures should be reduced and nowadays traffic has been increased for spam. Spreading the spam in the websites will creates damages for the websites and it should be detected from the websites.

Rising spam traffic

The State of Spam report by Symantec stated that spam contributes to 70% of the email traffic. The month of August witnessed the dramatic rise and fall in the PDF scam. While in the early part of the month it contributed 20% of all the spam which is the peak level and ended with 1%. Spammers persist to attacks containing malicious URLs, from Ecard to You Tube accounting up to 15%. The image spam level continued to hover around 10%. Spam messages containing URLs that use Top Level Domain for China i.e. cn saw a significant rise up to seven times than the normal existence. These URLs were used to promote pharmaceutical products and casinos. The 419 spam named after the Nigerian Criminal Code dealing with fraud carry on evolving and continue to be innovating. An interesting sideline is that the conmen have started using word file attachments along with images. An unsolicited mail with some incorrect English and shouting text similar to 419 scam claims that the sender wants to give away his pedigree puppy was also blocked by Symantec’s filters.

Government Alerts Nigerian Residents Of A Recent Scam

The Nigerian government alerted the country's citizens on Monday against falling prey to spammers promising fake jobs and contracts at the nation's top government hospital. President Umaru Yar'Adua, who gained power in April, has promised to clean up the reputation of Africa's largest democracy which is shattered by endemic fraud and corruption. The Information Ministry issued a statement stating that the government issues warning to alert the public about the activities of some deceitful people who have been using the name of the National Hospital, Abuja, to defraud unsuspecting organizations and individuals. Further reports stated that the spammers were promising huge employments and contracts through mails and added anyone seeking genuine information about the National Hospital can get it from its official website. The fraudsters send emails all over the world promising the recipient financial gains in exchange for processing fees.
