The Nigerian government alerted the country's citizens on Monday against falling prey to spammers promising fake jobs and contracts at the nation's top government hospital. President Umaru Yar'Adua, who gained power in April, has promised to clean up the reputation of Africa's largest democracy which is shattered by endemic fraud and corruption. The Information Ministry issued a statement stating that the government issues warning to alert the public about the activities of some deceitful people who have been using the name of the National Hospital, Abuja, to defraud unsuspecting organizations and individuals. Further reports stated that the spammers were promising huge employments and contracts through mails and added anyone seeking genuine information about the National Hospital can get it from its official website. The fraudsters send emails all over the world promising the recipient financial gains in exchange for processing fees.
